Neuro Diverse Living (NDL) confronts the unique and unmet lifelong housing requirements and challenges adults with autism or other intellectual disabilities face. NDL will develop affordable, neurodiverse, 'smart-home-enabled', coliving and cohousing communities that allow them to live independently for as long as possible, hold down valuable jobs, and lead meaningful lives. Despite the investment of billions of dollars in research, early diagnosis, interventions, and education, adults with autism graduate high school "onto the couch." Most are unemployed, socially isolated, and primarily supported by their aging parent caregivers. Without access to alternative and sustainable housing options, adults with autism are at risk of homelessness and likely to be "placed in the next empty bed" of a group home or adult foster care far away from their hometown.

Neuro Diverse Living (NDL) is in process of developing neuro-inclusive communities for adults with autism or other intellectual developmental disabilities, and neurotypical adults looking to live where people not only care about their neighbors but also care for them. We're looking for scattered-site, single-family, duplex, or small apartment structures across Pennsylvania in need of light renovation but also for land on which to build new neuro-inclusive coliving and cohousing communities. Corporate sponsors can help us with the funds necessary to buy and develop the property, fund inspections, make renovations to create unique supportive housing solutions by combining smart-home technology, intentional sensory-friendly design strategies, and built-in supports.

Because we're a tax-exempt charity, donors who have property or structures they no longer need can receive substantial tax deductions for donating it to us for this critical charitable use. We can even accept gifts of stock. When you make a gift of stock, you can claim a charitable deduction equal to the value of the stock on the day of your gift and avoid capital gains taxes you might pay if you sold it. That's a win-win in our book.

As NDL moves forward with building our neuro-inclusive coliving and cohousing communities, we're also looking for people who may not only want naming rights but understand the need for long-term funding and would consider putting NDL in their will and estate plan. In that way, we can guarantee safe and secure lifelong living arrangements for individuals with ASD/IDD as they transition into adulthood.
